Dennis E. Chrostowski, 61, died June 11, 2013, at Hospice of Palm Beach, Jupiter Pavilion He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Hobe Sound for the past 13 years, moving here from New York.

Before retirement, he was a New York City Police Emergency Service Unit Squad member “ESU9” for 20 years. He also was a member of the SWAT team, New York City PBA, USA 9/11 First Responders and Abundant Life Church of Stuart.

He was a first responder on the 9/11 terrorist attacks of the World Trade Center in New York City.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Chrostowski of Hobe Sound; sons, Peter Ferrer of San Antonio and Israel Nunez of Alexandria, Va.; daughters: Allison Chrostowski of Long Island, N.Y., Nidza Ferrer and Keila Nunez, both of Queens, N.Y., and Amy Chrostowski of Brentwood, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Abundant Life Church, P.O. Box 1349, Stuart, FL 34995. Services: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. June 15 in the Chapel of Martin Funeral Home & Crematory/Stuart Chapel with a chapel service at 11 a.m. Burial with honors will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart.
