Sister of 9/11 hero, FF Michael Kiefer, doing triathlon in his honor

Michael Kiefer was an FDNY firefighter, a lifeguard, and an accomplished athlete. He was only 25 when he was killed responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, reports Fox 5 News.

His sister, Kerri Kiefer-Viverito said of him. “Every job he had involves saving other people.”

To honor him, she will do the 32nd annual Town of Hempstead Triathlon, using her brother’s bike. The last time she saw her brother, he was doing the 17th Town of Hempstead Triathlon.She’s training two hours each day to swim, bike, and run.
