One FBI agent, Leonard Hatton, was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Fifteen FBI agents have died so far of site-related illnesses, three of them, Brian Crew, Laurie Fournier, and Dave LeValley since March of this year, writes Del Quentin Wilber of the LA Times.
Only five of the fifteen have been officially listed as dying of World Trade Center-related illnesses by the Labor Department. The FBI and the FBI agents’ association are working for the other ten agents to receive the same designation — and benefits.
