Richard Driscoll is 200th FDNY hero to die of 9/11-related illness

FDNY Firefighter Richard Driscoll has died of World Trade Center illness, the 200th firefighter to die because of the attack’s aftermath.

FF Driscoll retired from East Harlem’s Engine 91 in 2002, after a long career that included months at the World Trade Center site, report Stephanie Pagones and Aaron Feis for the NY Post. He was also a Vietnam veteran.

FF Driscoll is the second firefighter and the third recovery worker to die in the two days that the Senate has been playing political games with the legislation that would re-establish the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
