Retired FDNY Firefighter Jimmy Martinez, has died of World Trade Center-related bone marrow cancer, after a 5-year fight with the disease, reports Tracey Porpora of the Staten Island Advance.
Martinez was 58 and leaves a wife and three children. His son, Jimmy, followed him into the FDNY.
