Rename Brooklyn’s Foundation Academy the Captain Vernon Richard Academy

Captain Vernon Allan Richard of the FDNY was raised in the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, New York.

During the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center of September 11, 2001, Captain Richard gave his life in the line of duty.

Captain Richard was a proponent of education and excellence. His former childhood community would like to rename The Foundation Academy The Captain Vernon Richard Academy in his honor. Vernon Richard exemplified the Academy’s core values of excellence, courage and community service.
