Every year, the NYPD throws a great party that they wish no one would attend. This year Santa came, along with Wonder Woman, Captain America and Batman, and celebrities. The guests of honor are the families of officers killed in the line of duty, write Dale W. Eisinger and Larry McShane for the NY Daily News.
The annual Widows and Children’s Holiday Party was held this year at Michael Jordan’s steakhouse in Grand Central.
Some families in attendance lost their loved ones to the 2001 terrorist attack, or to 9/11-related illnesses were there, others lost family to violent acts throughout the city. The widow and small sons of Officer Paul Tuozollo, who was shot to death last month attended.
