Chris Spencer of the United Kingdom, was stranded in Gander, Newfoundland when US airspace closed because of the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
To thank his hosts for their kindness to him during his unexpected stay, he is arranging for a StarDisc to be given to the people of Gander.
StarDiscs are artworks consisting of illuminated star charts on granite circles by UK artist Aidan Shingler, reports Nicholas Mercer for The Central Voice.
