NYPD officers hold funeral for 95-year-old retired detective, World War II veteran

Detective William Brown was a World War II veteran who retired from the NYPD in 1968 after 20 years of service. He died alone without next of kin recently, reported Tracee Carrasco of CBS New York.

The NYPD officers of the 113th Precinct checked on him regularly, considered him a friend and gave him a funeral today.

Brown will be buried at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale.
