BATTERY PARK CITY — The NYPD’s intelligence gathering agency has moved to Battery Park City.

The Intelligence Division recently found a new home in Brookfield Place at 250 Vesey St, bringing more than 150 plainclothes police officers to the neighborhood, said Capt. Brendan Timoney, commanding officer of the 1st Precinct.

The agency, which leads the NYPD’s intelligence operations, was previously located in Chelsea.

Battery Park City residents only had one concern about the move when Timoney told them about it at a recent Community Board 1 meeting: They worried that the influx of police cars would take up the already scarce parking in the area.

Timoney said that residents can contact him if they see police cars parking illegally or have other issues.

“Give me a call, let us know if there’s any concerns,” Timoney said. “Ultimately, this is a good thing, having an increased police presence in your neighborhood.”
