NYC firefighter John Moschella ‘never gave up’ after 9/11-related cancer diagnosis

John Moschella, a 28-year FDNY veteran, died of World Trade Center-related colorectal cancer in December 2018 at the age of 52. At the end of his career, he served as captain of Engine 26.

The eldest of five, he was popular and kind-hearted. Thousands turned out for his funeral.
