Kristin Chenoweth meets real-life “Come from Away” pilot Beverley Bass

Musical comedy star Kristin Chenoweth met pilot Beverley Bass, the subject of the musical Come from Away recently. Chenoweth, a big fan of the show, asked to meet Beverley when she was on one of her flights, reports Mara Siegler for the New York Post Page Six.

Toxicology expert tells Canadian Occupational Safety that Ground Zero horror exposed first responders to substances now linked to neurological, cardiovascular issues

A new study has linked World Trade Center toxins to neurological and cardiovascular disease, reports Maia Foulis, for The Safety Magazine.

Michelle Hernandez, associate director of occupational toxicology with Merck & Co. has submitted the first pmanuscript documenting the effect of World Trade Center dust on the neurological system.

Of course, a critial issue in studying World Trade Center illness is that the dust was not a case of exposure to a single chemical, as the dust contained many different organic and inorganic compounds.

Hernandez also studied how large particles were forced deeply into lungs, leading to workers’ exposure to larger particles than was formerly thought possible.

Former NYPD Sergeant Sally Spinosa sentenced to 2 months in prison for lying about work sifting through Ground Zero debris

After years of falsely claiming that she had health issues from the World Trade Center and claiming tens of thousands of dollars meant for those ill from their World Trade Center recovery work, Sally Spinosa, 56, was sentenced to two months in prison, reports Noah Goldberg for the New York Daily News.

Judge Paul Engelmayer told her at sentencing, “your conduct mocked the victims of that day.”

Spinosa cried and apologized in court, saying, “my life is forever changed.”

Her sentence will begin on January 14, 2022.
