Former NYPD Sergeant Sally Spinosa sentenced to 2 months in prison for lying about work sifting through Ground Zero debris

After years of falsely claiming that she had health issues from the World Trade Center and claiming tens of thousands of dollars meant for those ill from their World Trade Center recovery work, Sally Spinosa, 56, was sentenced to two months in prison, reports Noah Goldberg for the New York Daily News.

Judge Paul Engelmayer told her at sentencing, “your conduct mocked the victims of that day.”

Spinosa cried and apologized in court, saying, “my life is forever changed.”

Her sentence will begin on January 14, 2022.
