The city medical examiner says crews have removed the newly discovered piece of plane from the September 11th attacks in Lower Manhattan.

The 225-pound wing flap piece will be taken to a holding facility in Red Hook, Brooklyn to be stored temporarily.

No permanent decision has been made about what to do with it.

The ME also confirms no human remains were found at the site.

Crews have been working at 51 Park Place where the plane part was discovered last week.

The piece of a Boeing 767 was found last week wedged behind the building, the site of an Islamic Community Center which had stirred controversy.
