New MetroCards pay homage to heroes of Ground Zero recovery efforts before opening of the 9/11 Memorial Glade

Photographs of World Trade Center recovery workers adorn new MetroCards, which can be purchased at ten subway stations, most of them in Lower Manhattan – WTC Cortlandt Street station and Rector Street station on the 1 line; World Trade Center station on the E line; on the 4, 5 and 6 line, at Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall and Wall Street stations; and at the Cortlandt Street R & W station. The special MetroCards can also be bought at Times Square, Grand Central, Penn Station,  and Jay Street.

The cards are available to mark the May 30, 2019 opening of the 9/11 Memorial Glade, a new memorial to honor those rescuers, recovery workers, terror attack survivors and residents of Lower Manhattan who have died from World Trade Center-related illnesses, reports Larry McShane for the New York Daily News.
