OCME Announces New Identification from World Trade Center Disaster
– Patrice Braut is the 1,639th Person to Be Identified –
New York – The NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) today announced a new identification from the ongoing work to identify victims of the World Trade Center disaster in 2001.
The deceased has been identified as Patrice Braut, male, 31, a Belgian national. This identification was made through retesting of DNA reference samples of remains recovered during the original recovery effort from 2001 to 2002.
The number of identifications from the WTC disaster is now 1,639, out of 2,753 people reported missing.
