The Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in Lower Manhattan has a new security pavilion to screen those entering the building.
Security officials have complained for years that the site, one of the busiest courthouses in the US and one that holds some of the most dangerous terrorist cases, failed to screen incoming people outside rather than inside the building. The Department of Homeland Security had deemed the courthouse as susceptible to bomb threats, reports Larry Neumeister of the Associated Press.
