Motorcyclist killed in Feltonville hit-and-run ID’d as retired FDNY Firefighter

A motorcyclist who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Philadelphia on August 30, 2016 has been identified as retired FDNY Firefighter Raul Perez, report Jeannette Reyes and Dann Cuellar of 6 ABC.

The SUV involved in the crash has been recovered with the license plate removed. The driver is still at large.The owner of the vehicle has come forward and has been cleared. Police are asking someone to come in and discuss the events of the evening.

Perez was with the FDNY during the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center and worked at the site.

“I mean it’s hard. It’s a guy who always looked up for the kids here, for the community, and he’s always been here for everybody,” said Adil El Gharbaoui, neighbor.
