Mets jersey worn by Mike Piazza after terrorist attacks up for auction

The jersey worn by Mike Piazza on September 21, 2001 in the first home game  a New York team played after the terrorist attacks of September 11th will be auctioned on April 30, 2016.

Piazza hit two doubles and a two-run homer while wearing the jersey, writes Darren Rovell of ESPN. Piazza signed the jersey, which is marked with the date of the attacks and American flags.

The article makes no mention of what will be done with the money raised by the jersey auction. A jersey Nolan Ryan wore sold for more than $50,000 in 2008.
