Memorial unveiled for legendary FDNY EMT Idris Bey, who died from COVID-19

A memorial shadow box was presented for display at the FDNY EMS Academy in honor of EMT Idris Bey, an FDNY legend who taught there for many years, reports EMS 1.

Idris Bey died of COVID-19 in April 2020.

He had a 27-year career with the FDNY, and was also a United States Marine. As well as being a beloved instructor at the Academy, he worked in the field and responded to the World Trade Center during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. His ambulance was destroyed in the attacks.
