250 riders representing several motorcycle clubs participated in the 7th annual “Brains, Brawn, Bravery” motorcycle event.

Mike Margiotta holds the event each year in memory of his brother, Chuck, who had a 20-year career as a New York City firefighter before his life tragically ended on September 11, 2001.

“It’s overwhelming,” Margiotta said of the event. “Every year I go through the same emotions.”

The daylong celebration raises funds for the Chuck Margiotta Scholarship Fund, which provides a full four-year scholarship to a youngster who wants to attend Farrell and play football, but needs financial support to do so.

During Sunday’s event, riders traveled from Farrell to the family’s street on Ingram Avenue in Meiers Corners, which had previously been renamed Lt. Charles (Chuck) Margiotta Way.

“I’m always amazed to see how many lives my brother touched,” Margiotta said.
