‘King of Staten Island’ will open SXSW Film Festival

The film King of Staten Island, the story of Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, will open the SXSW Film Festival on March 13, 2020.

The film tells the life story of young comedian Pete Davidson, a native Staten Islander who lost his father, FDNY Firefighter Scott Davidson, in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Judd Apatow directs and Davidson stars in the movie, which was shot throughout Staten Island last year, writes Victoria Priola for the Staten Island Advance.
