Hulu nearing straight-to-series order for 9/11 drama, ‘The Looming Tower’

Hulu is planning to dramatize Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book, The Looming Tower, which depicts events leading up to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Legendary Television, Dan Futterman, and Alex Gibney are in charge of the 10-episode series. A  2017 premiere is planned. The book’s author, Lawrence Wright, will also executive produce.

The Looming Tower discusses the rise of al Qaida, and how that added to the lack of collaboration between the FBI and the CIA may have given rise to the attacks.
