Hulu’s upcoming series of The Looming Tower has found one of its leads. Tahar Rahim will play Ali Soufan, a Muslim FBI agent working undercover to stop jihadis from perverting his religion with terrorism, reports David Wharton for Streaming Observer. The other lead role, that of FBI agent John O’Neill, Soufan’s boss, has yet to be cast.
The series is based on Lawrence Wright’s book The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11. It is scheduled to air on Hulu in 2017.
