House reveals bill to extend Zadroga Act

Cameron Joseph reports in the December 16, 2015 issue of the New York Daily News that on the evening of the 15th of December, Congress has finally agreed to reauthorize the Zadroga Act on a “near-permanent” basis, after forcing very ill recovery workers to beg repeatedly for what is their due.

Sen. Chuck Schumer said, “It took too long but Congress finally rose to its responsibility to help our heroes. This agreement is the product of a lot of hard work but the end result is certainly worth it.”

Zadroga funding is said to be included in the omnibus legislation to keep the government funded. This legislation is expected to pass.
