House committee’s revised bill to renew Zadroga Act draws opposition from Democrats

Thousands of desperately ill people who did not hesitate to run into danger when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center are ignored by Congressional bureaucrats playing political games and refusing to reauthorize the Zadroga Act.

‘”To say you’re for Zadroga and then put in pay-fors that they know Democrats cannot support means you’re afraid to say you want to kill Zadroga. But you’re killing it,” Sen. Chuck Schumer told the Daily News.

“I can’t figure it out. Everyone says they want to help. Both leaders say they want to help. If they want to help they could get it done like that,” he said, snapping his fingers.’ writes Cameron Joseph in the New York Daily News on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.
