Heroin dealers’ base overlooked memorial to fallen 9/11 hero

A ring of heroin dealers who were arrested recently were based in an Inwood apartment overlooking an Isham Park memorial garden dedicated to Port Authority Officer Bruce Reynolds, who was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

“I am sure the brave police officers who put an end to the Inwood heroin operation in Bruce’s childhood neighborhood felt extreme honor making a major dent in the heroin epidemic that now sweeps our streets – while also restoring safety to the park that honors Bruce’s heroism and life,” Paul Nunziato, president of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association, reports Thomas Tracy in the New York Daily News.

Bruce Reynolds grew up in Inwood and worked to restore Isham Park.
