Heroic 9/11 Irish firefighter Brian Masterson dies from his work at the World Trade Center

FF Brian J. Masterson worked at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and for months afterwards, write Kathy Armstrong and Stephen Jones in the Daily Mirror. His time at the World Trade Center site gave him the esophageal cancer that killed him at the age of 61.

Masterson was originally from Lissavaddy, Co Longford, Ireland.

The father of three was a marathon runner.
