FF Ray Pfeifer begged Congress for funding of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Act from a wheelchair while suffering from stage 4 cancer, writes Diane Herbst in People.

He died two years ago at 59. Now his widow, Caryn, says, “My work is continuing where Ray left off. I am doing this because this is what Ray would want, and what I want to do: to help these guys.”
