‘He ran and he didn’t stop’ — Native Staten Islander set to run NYC Marathon in honor of her FDNY father Joseph Mascali who was killed on 9/11

Kate Mascali will run the NYC Marathon for the second time to honor her father, FF Joseph Mascali of Rescue 5, who was killed while responding to the World Trade Center terrorist attacks, writes Nick Regina of the Staten Island Advance. Her run will also raise funds for Tuesday’s Children.

“When I’m running and need an extra push I think about what my dad did that day. He went and he ran and he didn’t stop. Nothing stopped him. That’s what keeps me going.” she said.
