Ground was broken for a new September 11 Memorial Plaza in Amityville featuring steel from the destroyed World Trade Center, reports the Long Island News & PR
The ceremony preceeded the Peter 5-K, a run honoring Peter O’Neill, Jr., who was killed in the attacks. He and Louise Lynch were the Amityville residents murdered by terrorists that day.
