Centereach firefighter seeks record of Ground Zero work for paid duty leave

Robert Wilson of the Centereach Fire Department has no official records of his time at the recovery efforts at the World Trade Center after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He claims that the department lost his records, and those of 11 of his colleagues.

Now Wilson is ill with cancer and cannot get paid leave from his work.

No decision has yet been reached in the case, writes Zachary R. Dowdy forĀ Newsday.
