FDNY Firefighter John H. Matthews, who retired after a 26-year career that included responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, has died of Lou Gehrig’s disease.
FF Matthews worked in Engine 46, and was a member of Engine 97 at the time of his retirement, reports NY1 News.
