From Vietnam to 9/11, thank you, Captain Paddy Brown

Captain Patrick “Paddy” Brown was a Vietnam veteran, a U.S. Marine and a captain in the FDNY.

His last recorded words on September 11, 2001 were, “There’s numerous civilians at all stairwells, numerous burn injuries are coming down. I’m trying to send them down first. Apparently, it’s above the 75th floor. I don’t know if they got there yet. OK, Three Truck and we are still heading up. OK?” Thank you.”

In honor of Captain Paddy Brown, and of all our veterans, Michael Daly of the Daily Beast also says thank you.
