Friends of Flight 93 expand education outreach efforts at national memorial

The Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial are increasing their efforts to bring people, especially students, to the Memorial to learn about the heroic actions of the passengers and crew of United Flight 93 during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Among other initiatives, the group has secured grants from both the Penguins and Pirates sports team foundations to cover some of the cost of school field trips to the Memorial site, reports Deb Erdley of the Tribune-Review. Schools can apply for the funding here.
