First TV broadcast antennas go up at One World Trade Center

Installation of the first of several UHF antennas about 40 feet from the top of 1 World Trade Center’s spire has begun. More antennas will be transferred from the Empire State Building soon, reports Tom Butts of TV Technology.

The Empire State Building has housed New York’s television antenna since the terrorist attacks on the Towers in 2001.

The first broadcasters to use the new  World Trade Center antennas are scheduled to be CBS, WNBC,  WNJU and PBS.
