Firefighter’s dream ‘fulfilled’: 9/11 widow of Gerry Schrang on his legacy

FDNY Gerry Schrang, one of eight firefighters killed on 9/11 from Rescue 3, has been honored with a new firetruck in Holbrook, where he was chief of the volunteer fire department.

His widow, Denise, told Peggy Spellman Hoey of Holbrook Patch how much the support of Gerry’s fellow firefighters has meant to her family over the years, saying that they “would not have survived” without them.
