Firefighter who defended couple from rowdy teens on the Upper East Side suffered broken teeth and needed 25 stitches

An off-duty FDNY firefighter intervened when he saw a group of seven teenagers taunting a couple on the upper East Side on Saturday, sustaining a concussion, broken teeth, and wounds requiring 25 stitches, report Esha Ray and Graham Rayman for the New York Daily News.

The 38-year-old firefighter has been released from the hospital.
