Fighting for heroes

The Chief Leader reports that “members of the FDNY Boxing Team presented a $15,000 check to Building Homes for Heroes after a recent fight at Madison Square Garden. The non-profit builds or modifies homes for veterans injured in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The donation will help fund a home for U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Christopher Claude. His leg was amputated after he was injured when an improvised explosive device struck his Humvee near Karbala, Iraq.”
