FBI director slammed by 9/11 families over ‘tone-deaf’ ransomware comparison

FBI Director Christopher Wray has angered some September 11th family members, as he compared recent ransomware attacks on a meat packing plant and an oil pipeline to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, reports Joe Dwinell in the Boston Herald.

“People in the 9/11 community have been texting me asking ‘How is this real?’ and ‘He’s tone-deaf,’” said Brett Eagleson, who lost his father in the attacks. “He’s comparing us to the rising cost of beef and gas to our world changing in an instant.
