OCEAN BREEZE — A Staten Island firefighter who died on 9/11 is being memorialized by Staten Island University Hospital North.

The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund president Massimo DiDonna joined the firefighter’s family, friends and members of Rescue 5 — where Bini worked since 1991 — for the naming ceremony of Patient Room 3 in the hospital’s burn unit on Tuesday. Bini, who lived in Bay Terrace, was a firefighter since 1983.

Family and friends started the Bini Memorial Fund in his honor. It gives scholarships, emergency grants and assistance in his name.
