Terrorism by drone is a new threat, illustrated recently by the assassination attempt against President Maduro of Venezuela and the terrorist claim that they sent armed drones to attack Abu Dhabi’s airport.
Drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles are easy to obtain and use, and are largely unregulated. They pose a serious risk to the traveling public, as most can fly lower than can be easily detected. New detection methods are a very high priority, reports Bernard Hudson of the Washington Post.
