DNA helps identify another World Trade Center victim, nearly 18 years after 9/11 terror attacks

NYC’s Office of the Medical Examiner has identified another victim of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, using DNA testing on a bone fragment. The last identification was in July of 2018.

The 1,643rd victim’s name has not been made public, by family request. The identified person is male, reports John Annese for the New York Daily News.

The bone fragment used in the identification was found in 2013 near the Deutsche Bank.

Unidentified victims of the attack now number 1,110.
