Despite security, concerts provide ‘target-rich’ environments

After the Manchester Arena concert bombing and the November 2015 Paris terror attack in the Bataclan concert hall, the music industry and security personnel are concerned about security at similar spaces, reports Ben Sisario in the New York Times. There is confusion about how to keep people safe while not compromising the fun of attending live events.

Of particular concern are the spaces at the perimeters of concert halls and theatres where people gather before and after performances. The Manchester terror attack took place in a foyer outside the concert hall’s doors.
