Demolition is about to begin on the temporary PATH station on Vesey Street, in order to build the new World Trade Center performing arts center, reported Evan Bindelglass in NY Yimby. The PATH Station closed on June 26, 2016, when the Calatrava Transportation Hub opened.

The site for the performing arts center is east of One World Trade Center, south of 7 World Trade Center, and west of the site of the future 2 World Trade Center. It will be called the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center, and will contain three theatres, seating 100, 299, and 499 patrons. The three theatres will be convertible and can make one 1,200-seat theatre.

REX architecture firm of Brooklyn will design the center.Groundbreaking is scheduled for the spring of 2018.
