The release of the man who kidnapped and beheaded journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002 has been stayed for the present, but may still happen, comments the NY Post’s Editorial Board
The release may be imminent because a local Pakistani court ruled that convicted murderer Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheik was guilty only of kidnapping and lessened his sentence to 7 years, which he has served. This week, Pakistan’s Supreme Court delayed the release after an appeal by the Pearl family.
