Cypress trees planted in St. Tammany Louisiana to be living 9/11 memorial

St. Tammany Parish’s population of bald cypress trees is due to grow soon, while honoring those killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, writes WDSU’s Heath Allen.

A total of 15,000 cypress seedlings will be planted in five locations throughout St. Tammany Parish over the next few years. For the area’s 9/11 Living Memorial Project, the goal is to plant a seedling for each victim in each location.
