Cops arrest suspect in gang assault of off-duty firefighter

The NYPD has arrested one suspect in the assault of an off-duty firefighter by a gang of teenagers last week.

Damir Johnson, 17, is one of the teens who attacked the good Samaritan as he came to the aid of an elderly couple the gang was intimidating, reports Graham Rayman of the NY Daily News.

One of the teens punched the firefighter from behind, sending him facedown onto the pavement. He broke several teeth, suffered a concussion and needed 25 stitches.

The rest of those wanted have not yet been arrested.
