Lawmakers try to save DHS lab that prepares first responders for terror threats

The House passed a bill this week 395-3 to fund the National Urban Security Technology Laboratory in NYC, which is under threat despite its important anti-terrorism work, reports Geneva Sands for CNN.

De Blasio blames his staff for missing 9/11 memorial event

A spokesman for Mayor de Blasio says that the Mayor’s ignoring the opening of the new memorial for those who have died of World Trade Center-related illness is due to staff error.

Police org: 9/11 steel should be displayed as a tribute, not a gift shop decoration

Pieces of World Trade Center steel are in the gift shop of the Johnny Cash Museum spelling out the word “Cash” and the two towers. Brothers Before Others contacted the museum to ask that the steel be moved to somewhere more respectful. Apparently this request was refused.
