Cancer study looks at New York’s volunteer firefighters, but needs local participants

A new medical study researching the cancer risks faced by volunteer firefighters needs participants. The study is data-based and no medical exams are required.

Lead researchers are Dr. Jacqueline Moline of the World Trade Center Health Program and Dr. Anne Golden, who  compiled data for the FDNY’s first cancer coverage legislation.

Volunteer fire department members who would like to participate in the study should email ffcancerstudy@northwell.edu, reports Nancy Cutler of the Rockland/Westchester Journal News.
